Victoria is an area in the SW1 postcode in the City of Westminster with Pimlico and Millbank to the south, Belgravia to the west and the royal parks and Buckingham Palace to the north.
The area was designated as an “opportunity area” in the Mayors London Plan in 2011 and since then has seen significant levels of development long Victoria Street and around the listed station with major road improvements to ease traffic congestion.
The local area is dominated by the red brick Catholic cathedral, which was built in 1903 on the site of an old prison and Portland House on Bressenden Place. It has amazing views across London and the gardens at Buckingham Palace.
Victoria has one of the busiest stations in London with a large coach and bus terminus close-by. It’s also an area that connects several parts of London which makes it a very busy and popular business district.
