This historic location was first occupied by the London Omnibus Company – the company that operated horse-drawn trams in London in the mid 1800s. Dating back to around 1865, the building was primarily used for housing the company’s horses, but it’s now been transformed into a modern workplace. Even today, The Stables still retains many of these original character features – For anyone interested in the history, the trams were kept nearby in Lorenzo Street (just over the road) where there is still a large building converted to offices known as the Tram Shed that completes the picture.
